About Brandon

So for those that want to know a little bit about me and my life I will attempt to give you some insight.

First off, I am an newly expecting father-to-be. This will be our first child and I am very excited to be becoming a father, so much that I wanted to start this blog to help catalog my journey both through pregnancy and soon to come adventures of raising children.

I am very lucky to have the love of a beautiful wife and am blessed everyday that she is my best friend and my companion for the rest of my life.

Where are you from?
I am from Christiansburg, Virginia its a pretty small town though it has gotten immensely larger in the past 10 years or so. I am currently living in Shady Spring, West Virginia and have been here for 2 years. I moved here to take a new job as an Aquatic Biologist.

What made you decide to start this blog?
I began this blog due to the fact that finding out you are going to be a father is a very overwhelming feeling to most. We were actually trying to have children and its still a shock. I could only imagine the feeling if it comes as a surprise like it does for some. I wanted to start a place to document my journey both the good times and the bad that may help someone, somewhere, avoid the same mistakes or to have the same success that I have.

Where did you go to school?
I attended school at both Virginia Tech (2004-2006) and Radford University (2006-2008). I gained my Bachelors in Science in both Chemistry and Biology.

Where did you meet your wife?
I met Crystal in Organic Chemistry Class at Radford University a few days before Valentines Day. She was sitting across the table from me in lab and I said to her "If you let me borrow your calculator, I will give you all my answers." She handed it over happily. I walked her back to her dorm and asked her to be my valentine. To which she replied "No."....Ouch I know right? Needless to say I dont give up that easy to I got her instant messenger screen name and we began chatting online for a week or so and the rest is history.

How long have you been married?
I got married on July 31st, 2010 in Radford, VA at Radford University where we met. We have been married for 3 years now and I couldn't ask for a better person to spend the rest of my life with.

What are your interests?
Well, I will talk your head off about board games. They seem to be a new passion for me in the last couple years. I was big into video gaming growing up and now find more enjoyment in the strategy that comes with board games. (No not like Monopoly or Yahtzee but more competitive games). I also have been trying to live a healthier lifestyle and eat better and exercise regularly. I completed Insanity and am on my second round as we speak. I ran my first 5K with my brother in May 2013 (Run for Your Lives: Zombie Obstacle Course) and since then have been pretty hooked and look for all types of mud runs and other races to compete in.

If you guys want to know anything else about me feel free to ask.
